How Do I Use the Balance in My Currency Account?

Published in the Official Gazette of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey on 01.12.2021 Article 66 of the Regulation on Payment Services and Payment Service Providers with the Export of Electronic Money Incoming to UPTION exchange accounts pursuant to if the exchange rates are not used for 30 days UPTION Turkish Lira will be automatically converted to Turkish Lira and transferred to your UPTION Turkish Lira account. The exchange rate explained by the TCMB will be used in the automatic currency exchange.

Amount in your foreign exchange account within 30 days from the date of arrival on the account You can use the following methods.

• Sell Currency: With the “Sell Currency” feature we have introduced in the new service, you can convert the balance in your foreign exchange accounts into Turkish Lira at the favorable rates of Uption.
• Transfer Abroad: You can send to bank accounts abroad, name, cards and mobile wallets.
• EFT: You can send them to all bank accounts in Turkey via EFT by converting to TL.
• Currency EFT: You can send to your exchange accounts at Aktiv Bank, Türkiye Finans, Vakıf Bank and Vakıf Katayım.
• UPTION Card: You can use the balance found by linking your card to your foreign exchange account for your spending with the UPTION Card.
